The Big Island of Hawaii's two tallest volcanos, Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea, have elevations reaching 13,677 feet and 13,796 feet respectively. It is fairly common for these two peaks to receive snow during the winter months. When they do it is possible to find people skiing and snow-boarding near their summits. It is also possible to go surfing on the very same day. Skiing in the morning and surfing in the afternoon in the warm crystal clear waters that surround our island make a great day.
